Marissa and Dan are just the cutest! They met at UVA studying chemistry, and Marissa got her doctorate while planning a wedding with us. (hey there, overachiever!) We worked with her to plan in sessions, knowing while she was preparing her thesis she would be focusing solely on that. Dan was living in Louisiana during the planning, and Marissa’s parents are in NC, so our sessions were, by default, highly productive and information packed!
We sorted through a few different options for vision boards with Marissa. Her favorite color is yellow, but she wasn’t positive at first if she wanted to go soft pastel or full-out-sunshine fest. Eventually, she settled a little more vivid than middle of the road, but with the grounding colors being calmer neutrals and allowing only the florals to brightly pop.
After she finished her thesis, she was really wanting to get out some creative energy and decided to DIY her chemistry inspired table numbers and some reception signage. We love any touch that helps brand the wedding as the couple, and these guys were all about their love of chemistry!
They were drawn to brighter, more vivid images and selected Aaron Watson for the wedding day vendor line up. Here are some of our favorite captures of his.
