Marissa and Dan are just the cutest! They met at UVA studying chemistry, and Marissa got her doctorate while planning a wedding with us. (hey there overachiever!) We worked with her to plan in sessions, knowing while she was preparing her thesis she would be focusing solely on that. Dan was living in Louisiana during the planning, and Marissa’s parents are in NC, so our sessions were, by default, highly productive and information packed!

If you ever meet Jesselynn you know she is an actual ray of sunshine. When we met her, she had already had most of the planning done, but we were able to suggest a few great vendors for her and ensure that everything ran smoothly.
She chose muted tones of blush and lavender and had a traditional Filipino ceremony with Primary and Secondary Sponsors, and wanted her reception to feel more French Countryside than Downtown Norfolk. She chose to keep decor very simple and invest in lighting and floral for a pulled together feel.
We LOVE the shots of the two of them in the wooded area, they really capture the boho side of Jesselynn and are a departure from everything else her Chrysler Museum wedding entailed.
Here’s a few of our favorites and a link to their wedding video. If you’d like to see more you can swing over to Echard’s blog, or The Girl Tylers Vemeo.
The hand lettering on the envelope and this happy pup are perfect!

The steps of the Page House in Norfolk proved to be a perfect spot for bridal party shots.

Alice's Yacht Club bridal shoot
Alice is a sensational South African beauty that I felt like I bonded with instantly. The team and I were honored to be a part of her and Bridger’s classic yacht club wedding, but first, this sweet lawyer donned a fun gown that she would later wear for her reception, and hired the always fabulous Sarah Vanderford to shoot some portraits by the water.
Here’s a few of our favorites!
I love her smile here and the nautical touch of the boat’s numbers.
Subtle makeup can still be striking!
The windblown hair, the dresses neckline, and the yachts….perfection!
Off the shoulder and lace is always a beautiful combo

Kesha and Snehal, an Indian wedding celebration
Our team had the privilege of working with Kesha and Snehal on their Virginia Indian wedding after doing another family members wedding the year prior. Kesha trusted our team as planners who are very experienced in South Asian weddings to handle her timeline, vendors, and the details of the day. They chose a more traditional carved gold Mandap for the ceremony, but Kesha decided to forgo the usual red sari or lehenga for ivory and gold, and wow was it stunning! Another noteworthy outfit detail- her incredible black cocktail frock that had fun, gold sequined shorts under it!
Have fun browsing some of our favorite shots from Keith Cephus, and be sure to take a peek at the feature over at South Asian Bride Magazine too!

Pooja and Sean, A North Carolina Indian wedding
The team was thrilled to work with Pooja on her Raleigh, NC wedding to Sean over a beautiful warm weekend. As you know, Indian weddings hold a special place in our hearts, and this one was no exception. Sweet Raleigh turned into a destination location for the family, since Pooja’s family is based in Roanoke, VA. The Marriott Crabtree Valley took great care of us and responded wonderfully to all of our requests as we looked after our fantastic couple.
